I just saw the trailer for "Tolkien" which is a biopic about the author J.R.R. Tolkien.  It seems to touch on his experience in the First World War and how that might have shaped his life and career as a storyteller.

"Hostiles" on Netflix.

Christian Bale stars as a U.S. Cavalry officer in 1892.  It's a Western, but more subdued and gritty.  Some of it is absolutely heartbreaking.  But the story is good, the acting is great and the scenery is amazing.

Glass

Keeps you engaged to see where it's going, but seems to doesn't end up where most people hope it will.

Aquaman

One of the better efforts from DC.  Some bad one-liners, but overall on par with Wonder Woman I'd say.  Willem Defoe redeems himself for ruining Spider-Man.

Bumblebee

The first 5 minutes are was G1 fans have been waiting oh so long to see, the war on Cyberton with normal looking Transformers.  It is set in 1987, so the soundtrack is very 80s, has so hokey parts but overall it's fun for the whole family.

A Quiet Place - Not a bad Thriller disguised as a monster/horror film, just seemed a little short.

Overload

I thought it was going to be a little bit of war with lots o' zombies, but it was actually mostly a war movie with some zombies thrown in.

It's good if not predictable.

Jurassic World 2

Suffers from the same foibles as Jurassic Park 2.  That being dinosaurs in the "real world" just don't seem to be that interesting.

Sicario 2

Not on the same level as the first, but it was passable.

I saw The Incredibles 2 over the weekend.  And just like almost every other Pixar movie, it was pretty great.  It continues to impress me how Pixar is able to make their movies work on multiple levels so that both kids and adults can take something from the films.  Why it took 14 years to release a follow up?  That's beyond me!

Rampage

Decent action movie, terrible dialogue though.

The Disaster Artist

Pretty funny.  Recommend watching The Room first, if you haven't already.

Saw Black Panther last night. Good movie, not the greatest Marvel movie, but far from the worst.
